Make the Difference

Empower and engage youth

You can make an impact on future generations by volunteering a few hours a month.

Who Can Be a Mentor?

We welcome adults from all backgrounds, interests, and walks of life to become mentors. The most important qualities are a caring heart, a willingness to listen, and a commitment to being there for a young person.

Mentors must be:

  1. 21 years or older
  2. Able to commit to at least one year of mentoring (with flexible scheduling to accommodate your availability)
  3. Passionate about supporting and guiding youth

Why Mentor?

Mentoring is a rewarding experience that creates a lasting impact on a young person’s life—and on your own.

By dedicating a few hours each month, you can:

  • Build a meaningful, one-on-one connection with a young person in your community.
  • Inspire confidence, resilience, and positive choices.
  • Share your hobbies, skills, and knowledge in a way that benefits both you and your mentee.

Together, mentors and mentees form a bond that often leads to lifelong friendship, personal growth, and community connection.

Getting started as a mentor is simple and supported every step of the way

Start by filling out our mentor application form. We’ll gather information about your interests, background, and availability. Email the form to info@wcmentors.com.

To foster trust and safety, our mentors go through a criminal background check, and are fingerprinted.

Our team will conduct an interview and home visit. This gives us a chance to get to know you, and find a mentee that will work as a good fit.

We provide an initial training session to help you understand your role as a mentor and offer ongoing guidance, resources, and check-ins throughout your journey.

Based on your interests and preferences, we’ll match you with a young person who’s excited to learn from you and build a strong connection.

Once matched, you and your mentee can begin planning your activities together. Our team is always here to support you with ideas, resources, and advice.
