Learn to Thrive as a Mentee

Everyone can benefit from a mentor.

Why Become a Mentee?

Mentorship helps people thrive. Most successful adults have had many mentors, from professionals in their field, to elders in a hobby.

Who Can Apply?

Parents, guardians, and health or educational professionals interested in connecting a child with a supportive mentor.

Youth aged 6-16 who live in Windsor, Sullivan, and Merrimack Counties, and would benefit from additional guidance and companionship

Through our mentoring program, mentees have the opportunity to:

  • Discover new interests like sports, arts, reading, and more
  • Improve social skills, confidence, and academic performance
  • Gain valuable life skills to help with school, friendships, and future goals

Our mentors are carefully screened and trained to provide a safe, welcoming, and positive experience for each mentee.

Our mentors and mentees connect regularly through activities, conversation, and shared interests. Windsor County Mentors offers two programs to support these meaningful relationships:

Community Program

The year-round community program provides more flexibility, allowing mentors and mentees to meet for about two hours after school or on weekends. They explore the local area together, with activites like hiking, fishing, visiting local attractions, attending events, or working on creative projects.

School Program

In this school-based program, mentors meet with their mentee during a free period or recess. They spend time together engaging in in-school activities, talking, and working on projects in a familiar and structured environment.

The application process for becoming a mentee is simple and designed to help us get to know you. Here’s how it works:

  1. Submit an Application and Release of Information
Fill out our application forms, which gives us important background information, and our release of information form, which allows us to become part of a broader support network. Email them to info@wcmentors.org
  2. Meet with Our Coordinator
Once we receive your application, our team will set up a time to meet with you and your family. This is a great time to ask questions and discuss what you hope to gain from mentorship.
  3. Get Matched with a Mentor
After we get to know you, we’ll work on finding a mentor who aligns with your interests and goals. Our goal is to create a strong, supportive match that will last.
  4. Start Your Journey
Once you’re matched, you and your mentor will plan activities together, building a relationship at your own pace with guidance from our team.
