Windsor County Mentors offers meaningful volunteer mentoring opportunities in Windsor County, Vermont and the Upper Valley of New Hampshire. If you’re looking for a way to volunteer near you and make a lasting impact, becoming a mentor allows you to support local youth while building a powerful one-on-one connection.

Who Can Volunteer as a Mentor?

We welcome adults from all backgrounds, interests, and walks of life to become mentors. The most important qualities are a caring heart, a willingness to listen, and a commitment to being there for a young person. Our service areas cover the Upper Valley, Windsor County, Claremont, and several other regions.

Mentors must be:

  1. 21 years or older
  2. Able to commit to at least one year of mentoring (with flexible scheduling to accommodate your availability)
  3. Passionate about supporting and guiding youth

Getting started as a volunteer mentor is simple and supported every step of the way

To foster trust and safety, all volunteer mentors complete a criminal background check and fingerprinting.

Our team meets with you to learn more about your interests and ensure a strong mentor-mentee match.

We provide initial training along with ongoing guidance, resources, and regular check-ins throughout your mentoring journey..

Based on shared interests and preferences, we’ll match you with a young person who’s excited to learn and grow with you.

Once matched, you’ll begin planning activities together. Our team is always here to support you with ideas, resources, and advice.
