COPING THROUGH THE COVID CRISIS - FALL 2020 ZOOM EVENT

Please join Windsor County Mentors and Dr. Matt Friedman for an online discussion of mental health in the time of Covid-19.  Dr. Friedman is an internationally recognized expert in psychiatry and PTSD, having served as the first Executive Director and Senior Adviser for the VA’s National Center for PTSD.

October 22, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm for Parents and Caregivers

Dr. Friedman will lead an online discussion for parents and caregivers of children in Coping Through the Covid-19 Crisis, focusing specifically on what constitute normal and excessive reactions to pandemic-induced isolation. He will also discuss helpful supports and interventions.

October 29, from 7:00 to 8:30 pm for Professionals

Dr. Friedman will give a second discussion on the same topic, this time geared towards professionals working with children. Dr. Friedman will talk about how we react to prolonged isolation as well as prolonged contact with possible abusers, and he will frame what are considered normal reactions to stress as compared to excessive reactions, up to and including PTSD. He will also discuss helpful supports and interventions.

In both seminars, there will be plenty of time for audience participation for a general discussion. Please come with vignettes and questions that you’d like to discuss.

Please register through the donate link below. We are limiting each event to 50 participants, so register early! The cost for each discussion is $10. Select from the "Use this donation for" scroll down menu to indicate which discussion you would like to join. PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS SO WE CAN SEND YOU THE ZOOM LINK.

If you prefer to mail in your registration, please send check ($10 for one discussion, $20 for both) made out to Windsor County Mentors along with discussion preference ("Parents", "Professionals" or "Both") and your email address to:
